Oishii!

Salad alongside bacon and pea rizotto.

The most delicious cheesecake ever topped off with some raspebrry sauce at a tiny little Italian spot in Jiyugaoka.

Italian food is actually a pretty big deal in Japan and it's wonderful to boot.

Can't remember the exact name of the red drink but the other one was a pear soda. Delightful lunch.

Rainy Season

With rainy season upon us, there isn't much motivation to go off venturing or exploring places.

Photography sometimes isn't as interesting since I'm usually disheartened by the cloudy gray skies.

But there are still times where the subjects of photography can only be captured in rainy ambiences.

Fascination with spiders more heigtened than ever.

It's a Gundam!

A couple of weeks ago I headed down to Odaiba for the first time and wandered around some of the main attractions. It's a very artificial and commercial area, with some great shops and interesting sites. Unfortunately my pictures don't do any justice as the rainy season has brought nothing but muggy days with grey skies and clouds.

The 30th anniversary of Gundam was this year and for the event they actually have an actual scaled ratio Gundam standing in the middle of one of the parks. The construction has been completed and it's rumored to also light up and move later on. After seeing this I honestly don't believe there isn't anything Japan can't do.

チキンナガット @ マクドナルド!

5 nuggets for ¥100.

While I've been cooking more than usual as of late, sometimes the fast food cravings still get the better of me. Take example these glorious ナガット (na-ga-to) from McDonald's. I could whip out a whole other argument on how McDonald's is so much better here in every aspect (food, service, cleanliness, health, specials, menus) in comparison to the west but I'll leave it be =].

Teleport

Teleported to Tokyo Teleport Station... the coolest name for a station ever.

Two thumbs up for the individual or the group that culminated the thoughts to put together the name for this place.

トランスフォーマー

Transformers is out in three days. Do I see it when it's released here? Or risk the chance of me waiting until I get back to Toronto and walk into a Cineplex/Famous Players all by myself and enjoy it in its glory then? Given by the time I get back there's a high probability that everyone should have already experienced the robots in disguise... so I think I'm better off seeing it while I'm still in Japan.

Who Better??

Who better than Kobe? Nobody at the moment. Although they were lackadaisical at times during their run they proved in the end that they are the best team on the planet. First championship as KB24 proving he can do it without Shaq. Four rings now but I think he'll end his career with at least six.

Knock You Down

Keep rockin, and keep knockin'
Whether you Louis Vuitton'd up or Reebokin'

You see the hate that they servin' on a platter
So what we gonna have-- dessert or disaster?

I See More!

This is probably the coolest name for a cafe ever. And I don't comprehend it in the least bit.

Graphic UT T's

What you see before you are T-shirts in tubes. Absolutely serious. When you walk into UT Uniqlo Harajuku the walls are lined with these merchandised T's.

There's a bunch of different gamer style T's, animated characters, and bad Engrish designs to choose from. Definitely could frequent this store on a regular basis and add to the collection. Simply awesome clothing line!

Bridge BBQ

Went to 和泉多摩川 (Izumitamagawa) last Sunday to a BBQ organized by some Meiji university students. Their English was pretty good so it was fairly easy to communicate with everyone.

We stood around our grills getting to know everyone and it was surprising that a lot of the people there were just meeting for the first time.

Hey look it's Kyle! We met up with one of the organizers in a bar last week in Shibuya and accordingly invited us to the BBQ event.

No, we're not homeless. But this is the what a typical Japanese BBQ setting looks like. It rained like hell that day so even being under a bridge with an umbrella didn't provide much shelter from getting wet. Still an awesome fun day practicing broken Japanese with everyone else around.
